Tenor James Valenti, who recently sang at New York City Opera in September is on the road again, and this time he’s in Europe over the holidays
He writes to me, “This has been a long time away, 3 months total and away for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I love working in Europe and working in these amazing theatres designed for opera....fantastic acoustics!!!”
He goes on to send me a great review from his performance of La Traviata in Brussels. Hence the great photo with his ‘father’ Jose van Dam.
Le Soir Dec 11 2006 - James Valenti, la revelation;
“Face à elle, on résiste mal à la candeur adolescente de l'Alfredo de James Valenti : c'est la révélation de la soirée. Voilà un ténor qui sait user avec tact du mezza-voce et réserver ses élans pour les instants de passion ou de colère. Le timbre est radieux, la projection naturelle, la musicalité omniprésente.”
James Valenti, a revelation;
“One could not resist the adolescent candor of the Alfredo of James Valenti: it was the revelation of the evening. Here is a tenor who tactfully uses his middle voice and reserved his power for the moments of passion or anger. The timbre of his voice is radiant, his projection natural, and his musicality omnipresent."

”A seductive Valenti”
”James Valenti has what is necessary to be natural and seduction inside awkwardness”
”the American tenor shines with his projection and his secure intonation”
James is a wonderful man, and I know he is going to miss his family in New Jersey over the holidays, but what a great way to spend your time, singing in the best opera houses in the world!
