A few weekends ago AVA was the host to a wonderful afternoon of singing, music and buying. As part of AVA’s gala celebration there is a pre gala party for the Angeli patrons (you know who you are) at the Philadelphia Art Alliance on Rittenhouse Square. It was the spot to be that afternoon to begin the 75th anniversary celebration of AVA. The party culminates with a wonderful operatic crescendo on March 31 with cocktails and dinner in the Hyatt at the Bellevue Grand ballroom, an opera concert with Maestro Macatsoris conducting, and a champagne reception following the concert. The Angeli reception was in part a mini-concert with appearances resident artists Maria Aleida, Na Li Youm, Cynthia Cook, Taylor Stayton, Alex Lawrence, and master vocal coach Danielle Orlando, and an auction hosted by Alasdair Nichol of Antiques Roadshow fame. (Ms. Aledia and Ms. Orlando pictured)
The auction was fun as always with items that included a Château in Brittany that sleeps sixteen, a Villa in Tuscany for you and eleven buddies, and a chef’s table at the Lacroix Restaurant in Philadelphia’s five-star Rittenhouse Hotel.
Even some of the guest alums, who will be singing on the BrAVA Philadelphia! concert, got into the act. Soprano Eglise Gutiérrez modeled a beautiful necklace, while baritone Luis Ledesma was the presenter of the bottle of Chateau Latour wine.
Remember, It’s not too late to get your tickets for the BrAVA Philadelphia! concert on March 31.
