Congrats to tenor and resident artist Michael Fabiano, who was one of the winners of the regional level of the MET competition in Boston. It happened on January 28, and the next stop is New York City .
Fellow resident artists baritone, Christopher Bolduc, soprano Joyce El-Khoury, and mezzo-soprano Filomena Tritto have all won on the district level in New Jersey and will compete on the regional level in NYC.
First year bass resident artist Jeremy Milner also won the district round in Tulsa, OK (his home state). His is on to the the regionals in St. Louis on February 17.
Second year resident artist, soprano Angela Meade traveled to Portland, OR to win the districts in that area. She will sing the regionals in Seattle in mid-February.
Soprano Kisma Jordan will be singing next week in Toledo, Ohio, as part of Black History Month.
Tenor Stephen Costello performed at the Russian Embassy in New York City on January 26. He took part in a ceremony to honor mega-diva Renée Fleming. It was announced in the Philadelphia Inquirer today that Stephen Costello will star next season in Opera Company of Philadelphia’s newest world premier opera Cyrano.
For all you locals in the Philadelphia area, don't forget the district round to the Met competition will take place on Saturday, February 3 at AVA. The singers are scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This district invites guests to attend the auditions, so you my attend on a first-come, first-serve basis on seating. Come cheer the singers on!
