Part of my job is to help find singing jobs for the resident artists during the year. We just completed a busy week sending singers and accompanists to many parts of the city to spread cheer, and good tidings about AVA.
Angela Meade, second year soprano and Christopher Bolduc, first year baritone sang for The Colonial Dames last week under the direction of Luke Housner at the piano. Director of Institutional Advancement, Robert (Bob) Lyon accompanied them and spoke briefly to the audience about what AVA is all about.
The AVA group was asked to stay for lunch (which I heard was delicious) and rreally enjoyed themselves. It's one thing to be a great singer, but it's another to be an ambassador of music, and these singers are both! Everyone this season did a great job performing throughout the area, and I'd say AVA made a lot of new friends because of them.
